Cybershield Molding & Chrome Plating

Cybershield has complemented its world class chrome plating capability with in-house injection molding in its factory in Lufkin, Texas (100 miles north of Houston).  In 2016, Cybershield commenced molding and chrome plating plastic parts for several major consumer products and automotive customers.  The benefit of this unique capability is that Cybershield can compress the lead times, reduce costs and provide the highest quality chrome plated plastic parts to its customers.

This capability of molding and chrome plating parts under one roof is unique in the USA.  Only Cybershield has this capability.  Cybershield has made significant investments in both injection molding capacity as well as installation of a world class trivalent chrome plating line designed to meet all chrome plating industry standards and specifications up to and including the highest level, automotive exterior requirements.

Bobby Marshall, Cybershield President and CEO stated, “Cybershield made investments in injection molding with the goal of improving cost, lead time and quality.  By molding parts in our factory, in close proximity to our chrome plating line, we can ensure that molded part defects do not get to the chrome plating process.  Visual defects such as splay, blisters, scratches or any other visual or dimensional defects can be immediately identified at molding and the process can be rectified.  Latent injection molding defects that manifest themselves during chrome plating can be rapidly identified and fed back to the molding operation for corrective action.  The short feedback cycle leads to improved yields and overall quality as well as lower costs for our customers.”
