Conductive Paints are widely used in the electronics industry today for EMI RFI shielding and ESD control. The shielding material can be sprayed on to the plastic using an air atomizer or airless spray equipment. The spray pattern, paint thickness, and conductive pigment can be tailored for each application to provide optimal EMI RFI shielding performance and cost.
Cybershield has extensive masking fixture design expertise to optimize paint usage and costs. Higher volume projects can benefit from one of our integrated robotic application cells. Cybershield has 8 robotic paint cells with 6-axis control that can paint parts up to 3 feet X 3 feet X 3 feet.
There are a variety of Conductive Paints available for application: nickel, graphite, copper, silver, and silver-copper hybrids. Nickel and graphite conductive paints provide excellent ESD protection, as well as moderate shielding effectiveness. Copper paints are a popular choice providing midrange shielding and conductivity performance while being very cost effective. Silver and silver-copper hybrid conductive paints offer higher levels of shielding effectiveness. Since the shielding effectiveness is a function of paint thickness and uniformity, it is important to consider geometry and design complexity. Cybershield has extensive experience with a broad range of conductive paints from major paint suppliers. We have both low volume manual and high volume robotic conductive paint application. Our engineering team is ready to work with you to develop a cost effective conductive spray paint shielding solution tailored to your requirements.
